How can Carnaross make travel more sustainable? Are ecars the answer?

Congratulations to the boys and girls of fifth and sixth class at Carnaross NS, Kells, Co. Meath who presented their unique piece of research at the Primary Science Fair in the RDS yesterday.  They project explored  whether ecars would be a viable option to make travel more sustainable in their rural community! They were delighted to get a short spin in the iMiEV around the RDS and are looking forward to visit to their school from the ESB to see a Nissan Leaf next week.

Hi guys, Was at the RDS Sat – was looking out for your project only to discover that you had been there for only one day. Sorry to have missed you. From the pictures here of the project you have done great work – well done to all. Hope you enjoy the visit from ESB ecars with the Leaf. Make sure that you get them to give you all a spin in the Leaf, get them to explain the dash board, the built-in Sat Nav, the charging sockets and the charging cable.

I’m very impressed that 5th & 6th class of Carnaross NS have taken on with such an eco friendly project. Your school is involved in the Green-Schools programme and now you have Green Cars as a possible focus in your community, well done to students, parents and teachers. All heads together and answer Paddy Carroll’s
queries on what ye thought about the Nissan Leaf !Good luck for the rest of school in 2014.
